Art is food for the spirit...

I have always had a love for art. Art that is created naturally by Mother Nature and art that is created by innovative humans. Art in itself is an expression of one's spirit and it calls to all of us who are attracted to it. I love to travel and have felt the impact of cultural artwork from ancient architecture, to murals, to hand crafted jewelry made on the beaches in the Caribbean. I became and artist at the ripe age of 2 finger painting and took grade school level classes from the ages of 12-17. Mostly self taught, for the longest time, I believed that art was a hobby and not to be taken seriously as a means to support my family. A hobby that needed to take the back burner to all the other ways I served as a healer and a provider. For the majority of my life I created artwork on people's heads as a stylist. However, once found the courage to sell my artwork, instead of keeping it tucked under by bed and stuffed into my closet, I was humbled by the stories that compelled people to purchase my artwork. Wonderful memories of loved one's and experiences, somehow my artwork gave people a piece of something they had experienced, a piece of self-expression that reaffirmed who they are, the perfect gift for a loved one, or a connection to someone they lost. I do custom work and it is POWERFUL, because it helps my customers to feel as if they are the artist created something for someone they love as a give or as a memory to stay connected to someone they've loved and lost.
